Gems everywhere

Lately I am finding some real gems tucked into the blogs of some wonderful homeschooling moms.
My last post was about Melissa Wiley’s elegant defense of homeschooling. Be sure to go back and pick up that gem if you missed it.
Today I found a couple more. Please dig in and uncover these jewels for yourself…
First, at Alice’s always-inspiring Cottage Blessings blog, you can find the most beautiful idea for a Lenten Tea. Alice has put together something really special, with readings from Mark’s Gospel, a menu with ingredients thoughtfully tied to the readings, complete with simple recipes! She has even generously posted a convenient shopping list at the 4reallearning board (Living faith forum).
Then, be sure to visit Karen’s clever blog for You are What you Read in which Karen discusses an inspiring quote from Little Women and relates it to teaching grammar from living books. I think I’ll adopt “like pills in jelly” as my new mantra! Then if your curiosity is piqued (like mine was), read Part One as well.
Real gems for real learning and real life. How much richer can it get?
