National Treasure

We count ourselves among the blessed to live at the doorstep of our favorite park. No ordinary playground with swings and slides, this is America’s playground and the most visited National Park in the USA. To be able, on a whim, to pack up a picnic lunch and head for Great Smoky Mountains National Park, arriving there within 30 minutes is a priveledge few enjoy. But we do. Often. And I never fail to give thanks to God and those wise men before us who had the vision to establish our National Park System. Greater than all the gold in Fort Knox, all the money in our National Treasury, all the priceless heirlooms and works of art in the Smithsonian is the value of this our true National Treasure. Enjoy it knowing that it is ours to care for, ours to protect, and ours to bequeath to our heirs. What a precious inheritance!
Have you visited your National Parks lately? Why not do it soon?
