A Mystery

Superboy and i cannot figure out how she did it.
Today I opened up a page for JBug to color. It had a picture of a bunch of crayons and beside it was the name of the color you are supposed to color each one. I told her the first one was yellow and she colored it. Then the phone rang and I chatted with my dad for a few minutes. When I came back, Superboy was standing beside JBug, who had colored ALL the crayons with the correct colors!
Now keep in mind that JBug is only at the stage of learning her letters. No where near actual reading yet.
I asked Superboy if he had told her and he swears he only told her two of them. That leaves 4 or 5 she colored on her own.
I asked JBug how she knew which color to color them, but she really did not know what I was asking her. Finally she said,”I just read them.”
Hmm…
I tried another page and quizzed her repeatedly…”What does this say?” She didn’t get a single one right.
So…what do you think? How did she figure out the colors?

I think she did read it, but didn’t quite know that’s what it was called. I remember doing similar things when I was around 4.

    Very cool though.

Theresa, my oldest began reading spontaneously at 4 (I did the same at 3). This sounds like things he would do. It’s so neat to see it unfold! :)

Did she match up the name of the color on the page with the name on the crayon??
