Rockin’ Robin
Posted by lapazfarm on May 25th, 2006 filed in Curriculum or Lack Thereof..., Superboy Work SamplesThese past two days have been alot of fun (umm… I think I say that alot! LOL!) with our focus on Robin Hood.

We are reading the book The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by Howard Pyle and meanwhile watching the movie. Did I say movie? I meant MOVIES!!! We’ve seen the Errol Flynn version, the Kevin Costner version, and even the Disney and Daffy Duck versions! Which did we prefer? We liked them ALL!!
We’ve had alot of fun visiting a variety of websites on the subject and trying to decide if Robin is Fact or Fiction, and if he is real, then just when exactly did he live???
Superboy made a couple of notebook pages, one with pictures of Robin Hood and the Merry men and his enemies, and one is a “wanted” poster which turned out really cute.
Nature Study???? You guessed it! The American Robin vs. the European Robin!
Robin is truly Rockin’ here at Lapaz Farm.

Oh what fun, Theresa! My boys love Robin Hood (and I don’t think he’s half bad either, LOL)!
And as for the birds, I do love our native robin, but the European bird of all those Beatrix Potter books has my heart hook and sinker!

Yea, Costner’s got my vote, I have to admit. That movie came out when dh and I were dating and I tend to think of the theme song (Bryan Adams-All for You) as “our song.” Sappy, but true!

Yup. sappy. But I too think of that as our song
Love ya!

My favorite is the Errol Flynn version. We are huge Robin Hood fans here! I love the poster. My Christopher made one recently with the Robin Hood Flour logo that he cut off the bag (still filled with flour!) Yours looks a bit less messy…
