All quiet on the Lapaz Farm blog front
Posted by lapazfarm on December 10th, 2006 filed in Random RamblingsFolks, I have to tell you. I am beat. Between renovating, moving, sick babies, sick me, and Christmas preparations I am just whipped.
School has come to a dead stop. Blogging will be quiet for awhile.
I will post a picture of the remainder of our Jesse tree ornaments once we get them completed.
AND I hope to have some nice “after” shots to go with the “before” pictures I shared of our new home.
I hope all my online friends don’t abandon me during the slowdown because I have come to depend on you all so much for support and encouragement.
Check back in once in awhile, OK?

Abandon you? No way! Looking forward to seeing the after shots. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Theresa, I would never abandon you my dear friend! In fact, I am offering prayers for you and your family right now. Take it easy, feel better and try to get some rest! (I know, that’s easier said than done!)

Hang in there! I’m still thinking of you, only now it is as I unpack.

Take care of yourself… It sounds like you’ve got LOTS on your plate right now. I’ll be checking back for pictures of the new house, and to see how things are going for you.
Take care…

I look forward to your return. Just this morning I shared something I had learned from you with another mother. You are a great inspiration to so many. A little quiet is a good thing. Take care of yourself and enjoy your family.

I remember being very pregnant and overwhelmed when we took on our 70s fixer upper with holes in the floor and ceilings. I was known to be organized yes, but this was testing that theory. I was so stressed out by the lengthy list of all that had to be done. Someone looking over my wish list and sketches wisely reminded me that I could not do it all, all at once. They told me I needed to decide which things were most important and sequence. Now, this was very hard advice for a nit picky perfectionist high achieving super mom like me to hear. I knew it was true but I admit did not always follow it.
Then they gave the sagest advice of all. It would not matter in the end how great it all looked or even if all the repairs were made. What would matter was how we loved one another through out the process.
Today, 18 years, two remodellings and 3 additions ( children and rooms) later… they were right. I do not regret that the trim still does not match, or the back bedroom window does not work, or that the tile is unfinished under the rug in that back corner bedroom. I do not notice them anymore in the warm candle light reflecting off my family’s faces.
So, take break, have a cup of tea, put your feet up, love on all your babies big and small and hug your hubby. Let them know they are the best gifts of all this year and you look forward to remodelling with them in the new year!

Thank you Susan, and thank you ALL for your kind words. I am SO stressed right now, but your support means more than you could know. I am so very blessed.

Dear Theresa,
I found your blog from a search for “homeschool Catholic North Carolina”. Our family might be moving to North Carolina in the next couple of months. I cannot find any Catholic homeschool support groups online. Are there any in North Carolina? We are coming from Michigan where Catholics make up a large part of the population. I’m under the impression that we’d be in the minority in the Southeast.
Thanks so much for any help you can give,
Mary Kay Toothman
