Just a little update on the move

Posted by lapazfarm on December 20th, 2006 filed in Random Ramblings

Just wanted to assure everyone that we had not dropped off the surface of the earth! The move is going well. We are about halfway there and I am setting up housekeeping as we go, so that the new house is liveable while we move. We spent the past few nights there and are almost to the point of being able to prepare meals there. Computer, however, is still here at the old house. I am keeping it here as long as possible because I am afraid we will end up with dial-up at the new house as cable and DSL are not in that area. UGH! But I am looking into satellite…so maybe there is hope after all. This may be my last post until after tyhe holidays as our lines here are disconnected in a couple of days.

Anyway, we have our tree decorated (last night), hung stockings, set out the nativity, our incomplete Jesse tree, and some other decor went up as well, so it feels “Christmas-y” at the new house and isn’t as bad as I had feared.

Now to take a brief respite from moving and do the shopping!

And since this is the last chance I have to up-load photos for awhile, here a coup[le I wanted to share:

One happy pirate -got a letter form his favorite penpal!

Oh no, not dial-up! I’d be hyperventilating at the mere thought!
You should have heard the penpal screeching joyously when Superboy’s photo popped up - “Mom! Come’re quick!” LOL!
Enjoy the shopping and have a very Merry Christmas!

We’re thinking of moving into a “fixer-upper”…….. the list of disruptive projects makes me think we need a year off from school between moving and construction.

How do homeschoolers do it….when they move or take on major construction? Maybe a year off before starting high school would be therapeutic for all of us!

    Sounds like you’re making headway.
