I totally stole this idea, btw.
Posted by lapazfarm on February 20th, 2007 filed in CatholicismSince today is a sick day I thought I would take the opportunity to catch up on some stuff here I wanted to do. Nothing like waiting until the last minute for a lenten project!
After spotting this wonderful idea at Waltzing Matilda I knew I had to steal it for myself make one of my own. I used a pretty file folder and some sandy-yellow cardstock to create this lenten journey calendar:

I also shamelessly swiped her idea of using oasis pictures for sundays. I just loved that imagery.
Here are the last few spaces up close.

Except for the empty tomb, these are not affixed yet. The crucifix scene will be glued on Good Friday, the empty tomb will be covered by the stone on fri nite, and Easter Sunday the stone will be rolled away to reveal the empty tomb and the risen Christ!
Should be a nice way to keep track of our walk through the lenten desert.

Neat idea! You should share it with Nissa at These Forty Days. Marianna and I are still deciding what exactly to do for our countdown to Easter. Now we have another option - oh no! LOL!

HI! Just found this website…
Really liked the Lenten calendar…how large is it when all layed out?
Also, where are you located? A new friend of mine is moving to Fayetteville, NC and is looking for a Catholic homeschooling group. Do you know of any?
Thanks for sharing!
God bless,
Bev

Hi Beverly! Welcome to Lapaz Farm! The calendar is made on a file folder opened up, so that’s the size. We are located in far western NC, nowhere near your friend, unfortunately. Is your friend in the military? I just ask because Fayetteville is a big military town.
