This should be interesting.

We have company coming in tonight from out-of-state to celebrate Easter and especially JBug’s baptism on Easter Sunday. Tons of company! Tonight! Plus dh returns from Kodiak, Alaska this evening (more on that trip later) and it would be nice for him not to stumble over the laundry when he gets here. I am soooo glad he is coming home because I really have missed…my camera! LOL! (Just kidding, I missed you too, dear!)

Anyway,  it should be interesting because:

We are also have  to try to get all the food, dishes, pots and pans out of the kitchen cabinets so dh can remove them in preparation for installing our new ones, which are ready, finally. Great timing, I know, but they were supposed to be ready a month ago.

Did I mention dh doesn’t get home until this evening?
It is a wet, muddy rainy day so I can’t just send the little ones out to play to get them out of the way and get it done quicker. I figure I am better off trying to enlist their help thgan ignoring them or it will be an epic battle all day-the scatterers (them) versus the gatherers (Superboy and me). Since I am outnumbered and out-energized, I know they will win! Plus I have the added handicap of a fussy, cranky baby who has decided that not being held 24/7 is grounds for outright revolt with screeching in surround-sound. So I have a 30 pound lead weight to carry as I clean one handed.

Did I mention dh doesn’t get home until this evening?

The heavy rain we got last night means  no yardwork can happen today. I had planned on raking up the assorted sticks the kids have left all over the yard and I have a half of new flower bed along the front walk that needs three more railroad ties installed, filled with topsoil and planted. That isn’t going to happen, so our guests will be greeted by, instead of a cheerful assortment of annuals, a long row of half-enclosed mud.
At the risk of sounding redundant: Did I mention dh doesn’t get home until this evening?

OH! I forgot that I gave up complaining for Lent! Well, I made it this far and it is Holy Week, after all. Seems lots of folks who’s blogs I visit are being blessed with their own specially heavy crosses this week, and mine is fairly light in comparison. But it does make me hesitant to get off my tush and get started.
Well, “to whom much is given, much will be required”, or some such sentiment to which I must cling if I am to get through this week with a scrap of dignity intact.LOL! I do SO look forward to the next days to come and the celebrations they entail.

Wish me luck! I wish I could post before and after photos, but my camera is currently somewhere between here and Alaska because, did I mention…?
