Fun with tiny things
Posted by lapazfarm on May 31st, 2007 filed in montessori, JBug, Curriculum or Lack Thereof...So yesterday I sent Superboy and Modgirl on a mission to find tiny things that can be spelled with 3 letter words to use as matching objects for JBug’s word cards. They scurried around the house and I dug through junk drawers and we came up with these:

And so just like that we had a new set of work for JBug. I went over them all with JBug so she would know which words were for what object. Then I divided them into 3 small baskets for her to choose.

This way, with only 4 or 5 words at a time she can do them quite easily. I will gradually add a few more to each basket to make them a little more challenging, but still keep them simple. She really enjoyed this work and did each basket several times before deciding to put them away.
Plus, she had a puzzle to get back to!With lots of tiny pieces!

What fun! And what a busy little bug!

Great!! When I first looked at the Montessori Services catalog last year at this time, they had a grammar set for all the beginning words and I quickly assembled this for Seamus and he’s just now starting to use it, what fun!!! I have another language activity ready to go, I’ll try and post it up soon!
