lighter
For those of you reading on bloglines or Google reader, click on over. I want you to see this.
A new school year warrants at least a few minor changes here. I’ve changed the look of the blog to something that I think looks fresher, more modern. What do you think?
I moved the Kodiak Nature list off the sidebar and onto it’s own page. I’ll add pictures to that page eventually.
And the name. Did you catch that? I actually changed the blog name from Lapaz Farm Home learning to simply LaPaz Home Learning. Dropped the farm part (though the address stays the same. No need to update anything, friends).
Why did I do it? Well…we don’t live on a farm anymore and quite honestly I don’t see it happening any time in the near future. This is kind of a revelation to me, actually, that our farm days are likely over. I feel a bit sad and nostalgic because living on a farm had it’s own special joys and challenges. But I also feel good. Because I know whatever our next adventure brings, it will be exciting. (Farming was exciting, but this will be a new and different exciting).
So, though we physically left the farm awhile back, I am finally letting the farm go mentally and emotionally.
I feel much lighter…

I like it! Very clean and easy on the eye.
The banner is beautiful, and the grays remind me of the sea.
It looks awesome!
I switched to this template, too.
There! I just updated your link on my blog to reflect the new name.
I like it. It’s very peaceful.
Looking and reading very peaceful. Want a cup of tea? I have one…
It’s wonderful! It makes me want to change mine!
I love it, Theresa!!
I really like it! Feels fresh and cool.
I know what you mean about how sometimes it takes a while for your heart to catch up to a big change…I still have my beloved Blue Ridge Mtns photo up as my Bonny Glen banner, though we are far from that particular Bonny Glen now…I’m not ready to give it up.
Hey, the book in your sidebar, Teaching the Trees–how are you liking it? Looks interesting!
Looks lovely. And good for you!
Thanks, everyone!
Lissa, I really like the book. Highly readable. Full of interesting info and never fails to send us off to try and see for ourselves what we read about. In fact, it inspired us to one of our favorite nature-study days ever!
Oh I like this layout. Which one is it?? I might have to change mine too when I update it this week.
I can’t wait to “tag along” throughout your homeschooling this year. I learned so much from you last year and you are still one of my favorite homeschoolers hun. I STILL want to be you when I grow up.
I really like it, Theresa! A nice change for a new year.
Oh, I like it very much! It feels fresh and cool — very easy on the eye, too. Actually, the colors match my customized Firefox perfectly, LOL.
Oh WOW!! I love it, it’s truly beautiful and now that I have met you “in the flesh” it’s SO YOU, my dear! What a nice change for the new adventures you will share here!! Blessings!
I love the new look, too!
Cool and Icy. Did you take that photo of the crashing wave? I liked your previous panaramic photo too, especially since it was so very personal and accurate for your family!
Oh it looks good… but I was a bit confused when I opened it up, I thought it was some OTHER blog
I like it though, very serene!
Hey Theresa
A new look!! And a new name! Hard to let go sometimes, sounds like you have made peace. Blessings
Hey Theresa
