A sweet tea-time bouquet

The last of the wildflowers this year, I fear.

Soon we will be filling our vases with lovely bouquets of autumn leaves and surrounding them with pumpkins.
But for now the bees are very busy getting their last taste of summertime nectar before the first frost sends them either to their hives or to their graves. We are reading about bees and their different survival strategies in our nature read-aloud this week (Field Guide to the Familiar). I do believe a little taste of the fruit of their efforts is in order, don’t you? I’m sure the subject of our morning read-aloud, The House at Pooh Corner, would agree, too!
“Time for a little something… “
