Now why do you think the whole time I painted this picture of Squirrel Nutkin I was reminded of my friend Dawn?
Is it her nuttiness, her clever wit, or is it just her frequent visitors that brought her to mind? Whatever the reason, if you have not visited her recently you should. There is always a great storehouse of nature’s “nutty” treats to be found.
You are a very talented woman! If you offered me a million dollars, I couldn’t paint like that! Wow!

Thanks, ladies. Marjorie, I have not studied art at all. I am just playing around with watercolors and this picture is my copy of a Beatrix Potter picture. SHE is the artist, I am merely a poor copyist! I am trying to get a feel for using watercolors by copying some Beatrix Potter prints as we read the stories. Maybe someday I will have the techniques down well enough to venture out and paint my own stuff.
