Focus
Posted by lapazfarm on May 29th, 2008 filed in Random Ramblings
I know I’ve been a bad blogger lately. I’m sorry. It’s just that our focus has been on other things lately. The move, prom, end-of-year concerts, the move, graduation, gorgeous spring weather, the move, seemingly endless college admissions paperwork, a certain baby snapping turtle the kiddos caught (see above photo)…and did I mention the move?
I think I may be obsessed, though you wouldn’t know it from the lack of packing going on. I am still trying to wrap my mind around all I need to accomplish, doing a mental inventory, but I really need to move on to the physical stage. Because, btw, we move in two weeks.
I promise I will do better soon. Perhaps after the move…

I just came across your site and am amazed. I have questions I would love to ask you about the Montessori you are doing at home with your kids. Where did you learn how to do it all? My daughter is in a Montessori preschool program here but I am considering homeschooling. I would love to pick your brain, if you’ll shoot me an email so I don’t fill up your comments section. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Ahh those end of the school year activities. They are going on in my house also. Of course, we are not having to deal with a move on top of that. Best of luck to you on everything.

Oh man - I know all about moving. And packing. And sorting. And making piles. Yep - I know that one REAL well!!
As you know, we are now in the middle of packing up and putting EVERYTHING in storage. In ten days we’ll take off on our bike trip to the ends of the earth!!! We are excited about it all, but just going through the motions now.
I feel like The Little Engine Who Could - I think I can…I think I can…I think I can…
You’ll make it - just like us!!

I can empathize. My husband will be leaving for West Virginia, mid July (and we’ll be going to my parents until I can follow him). His parents are coming up for a first load of boxes next week. No matter what I do, the house looks like such a disaster right now. I’m still trying to keep school moving forward…it’s hard. I’ve decided: Packing/Moving is not fun! But, It will all be over soon and you’ll be back together as a family starting your new adventure..and blogging all about it. Take your time. Focus on what needs to get done. We’ll be here. We’re loyal.

I think we sometimes make it harder than it should be..That said, it definitely depends on the chid. Some seem to need more repetition than others, to get something…Games are good for this! Great thinking post….

Best of luck with your move. My family is also in the process of moving. We will be moving from Colorado to Virginia by mid-July. I can sympathize with you- in that you have a lot of “to do” lists right now. Remember you are only one person and it will all get done in the end- SOMEHOME : )
