Rainy day

Or…What do we do when we are bored around here?

If Superboy is bored, he goes outside (despite the weather) and finds some berries, and then comes in to identify them to see if they are edible (sharpening his survival skills, you know).

This is Dwarf Cornel or bunchberries. They look like (and actually ARE) tiny little dogwoods. They are apparently NOT edible. But the Gooseberries he found were.

He also picked up this book at a used book store and is busy looking for clues and solving a mystery.

(ps:Don’t tell him if you’ve read it and know the answer. It’ll spoil the thrill of the chase!)

What does JBug do? Why color beautiful pictures, of course!

I call it “Landscape in Hot Pink.”

What do I do when I’m bored?

Try a new recipe, of course (in this case it’s strawberry rhubarb pie). I will leave it to you to interpret what I mean by “try.”

As usual, Theresa darling, you are a woman after my own heart!

BTW, tonight at dinner dh and I were talking about the perfect place to spend three months (kind of like last year with that SF trip). He was a bit surprised when I told him that, given the choice, my pick would be Alaska! One can only dream!

    Hi :)
Your pie looks delicious! We had a fresh peach pie today but strawberry/rhubarb is even better :) I’m going to have to see if I can find a copy of that book for my son, it looks really neat. I’ve enjoyed reading your entries :)

Art Fraud Detective has been a big favourite here. And I can never remember the answer ;). Your pie reminded me that I have some rhubarb in the fridge I need to use.

I came here from The Crafty Crow today, but was unable to post a comment on your splatter fairies post. They are so beautiful and fun! We’re going to try this today. Also, your blog is wonderful…exactly what I look for in a blog, as I’m a homeschooling mommy always looking for new activities and projects for my loving family. Many blessings to you, your family, and your blog! Oh, and congratulations for your post on Crafty Crow…Well done!
