election night ideas needed

So… I am looking for ideas.

What are you all doing to celebrate/drown your sorrows on election night?

Here’s what I’ve got…

I’ve got a roast to simmer in the crock pot while we all get out and vote…

I’ve got cookies to decorate with white frosting and red and blue sprinkles…

I’ve got my cupcake toppers

I’ve got the map to color and a stash of blue and red crayons…

I’ve got my presidential (and VP) candidate finger puppets

I’ve got my pop-up Whitehouse with 2 new tenants itching to move in…

AND…

I’ve got a link to my election night news team

What have YOU got????

  1. The girls will be making an election day lapbook tomorrow. It will be the only homeschooling that we will have for the day. You sure have some nice plans and thanks for the links.

  2. I have the internet (and a TV in the lobby if necessary) and a plan to stay up very late watching the results.
If McCain wins, I might just skip class to cry.
But honestly, I think your plans sound like a lot more fun.
    :)

  3. Yay for great ideas Theresa! I’ve got pizza and knitting to keep me calm. And my Dad, who will talk politics with me till sunrise. Thanks for the links.

  4. I work tonight. I’m awfully tempted to bring red and blue dye for the draft beer similar to the green for St Patty’s Day.

  5. Minimalist, here, but thanks to you I’ve now got a few *lighthearted* things for the children.

  6. Great links! Thanks for sharing them.

  7. Fun, fun! Thanks for the map link especially. Been meaning to print some out for my gang!

    Love,
    Lissa

  8. Oh, Theresa. You know NOBODY has got it together as well as you. ;-) My eldest teaches ‘ukulele lessons away from home this afternoon, so it will be a hectic evening. I am printing out maps and electoral college tallies, tho! Maybe I should make black and tan brownies to show unity, eh?

  9. Doh! My printer keeps eating the electoral college map. Off to try again ….

  10. Thanks for the cupcake toppers and the maps. Will use both tonight! :)

  11. We loved the pop up White House!

so much hope and inspiration ;-)

  13. Sounds like it was a rockin’ election night at your house.

Nothing much here. I got hotdogs and apple pie for dinner in honor of election day. *LOL* And I watched the returns on my laptop while I caught up on work. At 11:00, I started breathing again. :-)
