Ellen, I think this has been the most drastic change for us. Since we have family in NC and FL, which we visited a lot, and we have moved back and forth between the two areas several times, we were familiar with both those areas beforehand.
Modgirl is indeed at UNC and is doing fabulously. Thanks for asking! We are very much looking forward to her visiting us up here at Christmas time. We miss her bunches!

We’re in Chapel Hill. I swear we’re not following you around, and we’re definitely not moving to Alaska! Which move was more of a shock for your family, sub-tropics to temperate zone, or temperate to sub-arctic? How about giving us a ModGirl update? She’s here at UNC, right?

Shorts and barefeet here in the Florida Keys, of course, but we’re heading out to Colorado for Thanksgiving and dd is super excited – we bought SOCKS the other day!

It was in the low 30′s in Wisconsin today. We had our first measurable snowfall last night. We woke up to big fat flakes of snow falling and about 2 inches of snow on the ground. My kids, ages 3 and 5, had a blast in the snow. I helped them make a snowman, and I am sure achy tonight! But, I love snow too, but sure would not want the extreme cold you get in Alaska.

Wow – absolutely stunning, Theresa!

We’re not 20 below here in North Alabama – the Maples are bare now though, and it’s crisp out. Our lows were 16 over the weekend. Still…it’s hard not to be wistful when I see all of that lovely snow forcing your family into what must be an absolutely magical cloister this winter!

61F and raining here…very cozy.
Your photo is beautiful. I would love to visit, but don’t think I could handle those temps, especially every day. I just don’t do well being cold. One good snow a year is all I ask for…not that we usually get it .
