Happy birthday Mary!
Sep 8th, 2009 by lapazfarm
Today was the day our church celebrates the birth of Mary, the mother of God.
Since we are using the fabulous book, Mondays with Mary, as a guide for our religious celebrations this year, we celebrated yesterday (monday).
What’s a birthday without a cake, right? Well, when it comes to my kids and baking, I never have to ask twice!

Superboy was chief recipe reader and mix-master.

JBug was a champion egg cracker and spoon licker.

The lovely, yummy results of their combined efforts! A delicious pound cake!

Our little Marian grotto, complete with home-made banner, the bare tree just waiting to be filled with beautiful flowers of love for Our Lady!

I don’t remember how I came across this blog but I am using it to incorporate our feast day celebrations.
Great ideas!

This just made my day, I am so pleased to see your sweet kiddos celebrating Mary. Awesome job guys!! I love it and Mary is smiling on you all
The picture with JBug is great! Her smiling is saying much about her feeling happy!
The cake looks great! Love the colored frosting.
I just wanted to tell you what an inspiration your blog(s!) have been to me and my little homeschool in Texas. I happened on your site from the 4real site several years ago so I guess I am a long-time “lurker.” I have enjoyed your posts and all of your awesome ideas so very much. Somehow, with the way you present things, your ideas seem “doable” and not quite so overwhelming. (:
I esp love all of your Montessori ideas and the science units. Today your post and pictures spoke to me once again- I can do this! I love your table for Our Lady- the tree banner, the cake and the simply stunning Madonna statue. Thank you Theresa for taking the time and sharing these parts of life in your homeschool. I so appreciate it.
Thank you so much, Mary! I am so happy to be of help to you. And thanks for coming out of “lurkdom” to comment.
Oh I like this !
