The red bird of happiness

Sep 10th, 2009 by lapazfarm

I know it’s supposed to be “blue” bird of happiness, but isn’t this just the happiest little picture?

JBug was playing around with our new brayer (thanks to inspiration from one of my favorite art blogs, Daisy Yellow) and created such a lovely, colorful background! I knew it shouldn’t go to waste, so  I suggested she  find a picture to cut out and glue on. She sifted through her old issues of My Big Backyard and after a little cutting and a little ModPodge  she has a picture that just sings with happiness! I can’t wait to find just the right corner for it to brighten!

I just found you through Renee and I am so grateful. I spent way too long reading archives this morning and it was wonderful – thank you!

Also, this red bird of happiness made me grin – I love bright colours and it is wonderful!

I saw this the other day, but I’m just not getting a sec to sit and admire it properly.

Okay– totally love this. Had to go find out what the heck a brayer is. Now I want one, of course. Wondering if our neighborhood craft store has one.

It is a gorgeous, gorgeous picture!!
I would love to hang that somewhere in my home!

    I love it!!

Of course you had me at the rainbow background but adding a bird was the cherry on top of the cupcake!! Such a great picture. I hope you’ll frame it. : )

    Fondly,

I bet this was a super satisfying thing to do. Rolling layers of color provides so much depth to the background and that bird just pops right off the page! Great idea.

Oh, it’s just beautiful! Okay, that has to be added to art projects to try soon here. :)
