I’m with Meredith, half of each!! I still remember the video of the boiling water turning to ice mid-air. It was great!!! How lucky you all have been to get to experience two such wonderful places…AND the great state of NC.

I remember those photos … and how much you all seemed to be reveling in living in Alaska, so that would be my first thought. Still, now you’re back with the little boys, so there’s that too … A big year (or so) of changes for you all!

I am guessing the snow?! I would pick 4 seasons and I am not sure you really get that either place. You all look happy both places.

Hi Theresa,

Longtime lurking fan here. I remember seeing the Alaska pictures last year and thinking how magical a Christmas in that sort of setting would be. I was born in Holland and moved to New Zealand at the age of 14, and still miss the northern hemisphere season. On the other hand, having a barbeque at Christmas with fresh strawberries and cream (as well as NZ’s iconic pavlova – and don’t believe any Aussies who tell you it’s theirs! ;o) and being able to spend time at the beach also has something going for it…

I’d be most interested to hear which you prefer.

And also a big Thank You for your continuing inspiration. Your recent “I should have known better” post was just what I needed that day! I know you have written about it before (because I have the posts printed out) but I would love to hear more on how you go about creating your “tinders” )
