I’m not dead or anything
Dec 13th, 2009 by lapazfarm
Just going through one of my blog blahs. Those of you who’ve been around here awhile know that every once in a while I go through a period where I just don’t blog. Rather than blather on about nothing, I just kind of drop out for a spell. Nothing wrong, just kinda not feeling like I have anything to say.
Well, actually I do have a lot to say, I just suppose I am not quite ready to say it all quite yet. I’m in a contemplative mood, you might say.
In the meantime we are just doing the same old thing around here. I’ve been sewing a little, JBug has been working on some arts and crafts, Superboy has been doing whatever it is he does (usually involving the sharpening of sticks and the consumption of large quantities of snack foods. I don’t think the two are related.), JackJack and Squirt buzz in and out with all the energy typical of a 4 and a 6. And Ed has been working a lot. As usual.
And we are getting ready for Christmas, hauling out the decorations, making travel arrangements for visiting family members, envying the snow that everyone else (even Texas!) is getting and we most decided are not.
A tropical Christmas. Weird.
Not complaining, mind you because that would be just plain ridiculous. Just kind of taking it all in. Rolling with the changes. Because that’s what we do best.

As someone who is pretty partial to weather in all its wonderful variety, the idea of a tropical Christmas would make the holidays feel like such an emotional disconnect for me.
I’ve missed you while you’ve been taking a break, and hope you’re enjoying the chance to rest, recharge, and get your bearings. ‘Cuz rolling with it and liking the ride aren’t always the same thing, are they?
I know you’ll find the magic in it all and make it your own. What a year you’ve had!
That made me laugh. Glad you’re not dead or anything.
Been in a kind of bleh myself, the last few days. I’m thinking it’s on its way out, however.
Please consider joining in on a science fair! I’d love for you to win a book!
Glad all is well. Sometimes, some things are best kept to ourselves to simmer a bit!
I hear ya! Every once in awhile you need to stop and just breathe.
Have a great Holiday!!
I found your blog awhile back when I was searching for Alaska blogs. I loved reading about your adventures in Alaska! I see you’re in FL now. I’ve lived in South Florida for 15 years but have always wanted to take a long driving trip up to Alaska and maybe even live there. But for now we are here. I hope you come back to blog soon, I enjoy reading it. And I hope you like living in the Keys.
You know, Theresa, I just felt compelled to stop over this morning and wish you a blessed rest of Advent. I wanted to tell you that you don’t need to blog daily for us to love you! You are the Uber Coolest of homeschooling moms–you know that, don’t you?–and your archives speak for themselves.
Yesterday my little girls made frozen wreathes in their class at the science museum. I thought of you, naturally, and how you don’t need a “class” to do beautiful things.
Thanks for all the inspiration, Sweetie! Thanks for being…you.
Thank you, Mags. You made my day!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
And praying you have a restful break.
May The Peace Of Our Lord Be With You.
Tammy
Happy Christmas to you all. Looking forward to following your lovely blog in 2010. Elaine
Heh. Love your headline. Me, either! Happy New Year!
