His favorite was <a href="http://www.thepiratesrealm.com/index.shtml" rel="nofollow">The Pirate's Realm.</a> Also really liked <a href="http://www.piratesinfo.com/main.php" rel="nofollow">Pirates: fact and Legends</a> and this site was wonderful: <a href="http://www.nationalgeographic.com/pirates/" rel="nofollow">National Geographic Pirates</a> Tons of good info to get you started!
